Gemotions

The drive had taken far too long, and her hands were cramping. She kept fiddling with the radio, the static crackling like the sound of someone breaking. She’d been snapping at everyone all day. She pulled up to the park, the familiar sight of the green space bringing no comfort.

She stepped out of the car, and the world seemed to tilt. The empty space hit her like a physical blow. She staggered back a step, her hand flying to her chest.

She stood there, frozen, the world holding its breath. Then, she turned abruptly and walked back towards her car.
